CHARACTER
Character Name: Finarfin [Referred to as Arafinwë except in speech.]
Canon: Tolkien's Legendarium
Age: 6,811 Valian years (roughly) / 64,704 Mannish years (roughly 9.5 human years per Valian) / Apparent age is in his late twenties/early thirties
Timeline: Third Age: 2510 (Just before Celebrían arrives.)
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A
Personality:
Arafinwë was the only of his brothers who turned back, showing a degree of sense and care for his people along with fear of the words Mandos spoke that would doom all the Noldor who kept on to Middle-Earth. He led those who followed him back to Tirion on Túna, and became the high king of the Noldor who returned with him and those who'd never left. He is the sort who always wants to keep the peace. All of this takes a great deal of patience.
He is known to be wise and kind, making it clear why he was made high king, even beyond him being the only remaining son of Finwë west of Middle-Earth. He is also the quieter of his three brothers, preferring to stand back and watch before acting in what he feels is in the best interest of his people.
He is loyal to his family, though to a point. He is not easily swayed to others' perspectives, keeping a good hold of his senses and seeing through to the heart of things. Despite this, he followed when his children refused to remain in Aman and leave their cousins to Exile, until he witnessed the aftermath of destruction. Witnessing that had him begin to consider to return to Aman,
He was bitter, disheartened, and angry for the slaughter which his brothers had wrought on his wife's kin, but resolutely refused to attack them in kind and add to the Kinslaying. It wasn't until Mandos came and announced the impending doom to those Noldor who continued to Middle-Earth that had him turn back and bring those of his kind who would go, with him.
He is not quick to emotions, remaining level-headed and calm with a clear sense of duty and has the strength of convictions to keep to what he views as right and good. Indeed, he tries the most to persuade people to think before they act, least they regret their actions and words later after temper and blood has cooled.

Abilities:
As Arafinwë lived during the time of the Two Trees, he literally glows. This is ontop of the usual abilities of the High Elves: he does not need to sleep, only to rest his mind as his body continues a task. Elves can talk to plants, animals, and stones. He is light on his feet, needing not to leave much tracks even over fresh fallen snow. He has excellent sight, able to see very far distances. His memory is superb as per all elves, and he's gifted with reasoning, planning, and strength above the lesser elves, though not as much as his elders.
As elves were born out of the Song of Iluvatar, I see him as a good singer (not among the best, but he has a good voice, nor is there power per se about his song that some elves have) and is versed in the arts of music, dance, drawing, painting, and to a degree, metal work.
As the high king of the Noldor, he's an accomplished leader and well loved by his kin. As shown in the fact he led an entire army in the War of Wrath (the Great Battle), he is an accomplished warrior.
He is fluent in Quenya, the language of the Noldor, but has some learned skill with Sindarin.

[For all intents and purposes, the pale face of an fair-haired elf that comes into view of the watch face is a little perplexed, a little curious, but calm and composed. This was an unusual way to communicate as far as his experience has taught him, but he's willing to try and learn new ways.]
I bid you all greetings and a fair day, and wish to pose a question to those who have been here a time longer than I.
[There's a bare hint of a pause as blue eyes flick away, then return to the watch and those who are watching.]
Of the small dragons here. They appear fairly friendly, yet all those whom I have had experience with have been quite the opposite. Is this a common occurrence in other realms? If not, I would dearly like to hear tales of the creatures of your realms. I am, naturally, willing to share in return.
[With that said, he inclines his head formally, if only a little, and gently closes the pocket watch to wait for replies.]
